Hoshanah Rabbah
Friday, October 6: Hoshanah Rabbah is the last day of Sukkoth, and concludes the period of self-reflection that began with the month of Elul. Morning services reflect elements of the Yamim Nora’im and include seven processions with the Lulav & Etrog. Like Tashlikh on Rosh Hashanah and Kapporoth on Yom Kippur, we have a symbolic ceremony to cast off our sins: we beat the willow branches, hoping our sins will fall away like the leaves from the branch.
